Goodbye 2025 and Hello 2026!
Well, it is hard to believe, but the time has finally come. 2025 is about to end and we're going to ring in a new year. Here's a look at our weather headlines for the remainder of the week and into the first weekend and week of 2026. -New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will be quiet and seasonably nice, with partly to mostly sunny skies, highs in the 40s and 50s for most of the state, and lows in the 20s and 30s, generally about 5-10° warmer than today. No rain expected. -Frid

Another round of Winter Weather Expected Monday
WINTER WEATHER: Here we go again, another minor winter weather event is possible for parts of the state on Monday. To be honest, it once again does not look like a very promising event, and I don't expect too much snow in most places. The vast majority of the moisture will be in southern Virginia, where several inches of snow are likely. Here are my latest thoughts on a quick-moving clipper system that'll impact parts of North Carolina on Monday. There is no reason to panic o

Winter Weather Event for parts of the state Friday!
❄️ Winter Weather Update: A quick-hitting Winter Weather system will move through the state late tonight into Friday. Even the mere thought of snow/sleet in North Carolina causes mass panic and places to close before the first flake starts falling. Please calm down, this event will not have you stuck in your homes for days. You don't need to run the grocery store, but there could be some impacts on the roads Friday morning into the afternoon across parts of the state, with so

A growing risk of some Winter Weather across parts of North Carolina Friday.
❄️ Winter Weather Update: Hey everyone, I know there are a lot of questions about the potential Winter Weather that is becoming likely for parts of the state on Friday. So let's address the elephant in the room. Based on today's latest data, I am leaning towards scenario A I discussed last night. If you want a nice snowstorm with several inches of snow, this is not your storm, so don't shoot the messenger. This setup is not a raid on the grocery store; regardless of what happ

Another round of Winter Weather possible for some of the state Friday.
Winter Weather Update: Let's address the elephant in the room that's been on many people's minds. I've been waiting for more data before I touched on this subject, but now is the time, as we're only about 72 hours out. There is the risk of some more winter weather across parts of the state on Friday, but there is considerable uncertainty regarding the setup, as with nearly any winter weather event in North Carolina! If you want a nice snowstorm with several inches of snow, th

Forecast Friday November 21st.
Our weather changes somewhat; it is a new day ahead, and finally the weekend. Happy Friday, North Carolina! We are seeing a few scattered showers around this morning across parts of the center and northern areas of the state, these will move out through the rest of this morning and we will be left with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be mild and above average today in the 60s and 70s for most of the state. It should be a dry afternoon, later this evening late this e

Coastal Low to bring gusty winds, rain, statewide and the risk of Coastal Flooding to the Outer Banks
Coastal Low to bring Coastal Flooding and gusty winds to parts of the state tonight into Wednesday, the most significant concern for Coastal Flooding is along the Outer Banks. Rain is expected statewide from this, but there is once again a concern for Coastal Flooding, mainly along the Outer Banks, through Wednesday during high tides. 📌Coastal Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service starting this morning through Wednesday evening for all of the Outer B
