May like weather coming late this week, and pollen levels start increasing

May-like weather is coming this week, the 70s and even some 80s are next up. A long-lasting warm-up with late April/May-like temperatures expected starting Wednesday through early next week at least, temperatures will be in the upper 60s and 70s for most areas, with some areas into the low 80s at times. Along the coast (thanks to cooler water temps) and in the mountains, it will be more so in the 60s, but everyone else should see an extended period of sunshine and well-above-average temperatures in the 70s and 80s.

Pollen: The great pollening has begun across most of Central and Eastern NC. Pollen levels are already elevated and will move into high levels later this week and into the weekend. As the growing season is well underway across NC, welcome to spring! So if you're sneezing and have congestion, this is probably why. Don't forget your allergy medicines.
