The last official day of spring will be baking! Happy Thursday, North Carolina! Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected for the most part today. An isolated am shower or storm cannot be ruled out, but most will stay dry until mid-afternoon. Highs will soar into the 90s for most areas, with cooler temps in the mountains. Heat index values will reach the low 100s in spots, so take it easy. We will watch for scattered to isolated storms and showers that will develop late this afternoon and into the late evening across the state. There is a limited severe weather threat in the area; any storms that develop could have gusty to damaging winds and heavy rainfall. As usual, I'll pass along some updates.
