Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight (Friday 14th Morning)

Writer: Ethan Clark Ethan Clark

Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight: If you're a big fan of cool space things, tonight is your night. A Total Lunar Eclipse will occur tonight and be visible across North Carolina and most of North America. It'll happen in the very early hours of Friday morning, starting at 230AM and ending around 330AM, with the best viewing around 3AM when the maximum eclipse occurs. Here in North Carolina, we will be able to see it. The only thing that could block us is there will be scattered clouds around, mainly across Northern North Carolina, but I'm hoping some clearing will allow people to see it. I'll be looking regardless. The further south you're in North Carolina, the better for more clear skies completely. A total lunar eclipse occurs when Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a deep shadow that turns the Moon a stunning red or copper color (aka the Blood Moon). This happens when the Moon is fully in Earth's umbra (darkest shadow). It’s a breathtaking solar event visible to the naked eye! 🌕🔴✨
