Wacky Monday ahead, starting off warm this morning turning cold by the afternoon 3PM temperatures pictured below. Happy Monday, North Carolina! A cold front is advancing through the state today; this morning, we will see periods of rain, some heavy at times expanding east through the morning into the early afternoon. The forecasted temperatures are for 3PM this afternoon, through this morning to early afternoon, highs will be in the 50s and 60s. Temperatures will fall starting late morning west and through the early afternoon; by the mid-afternoon, temps will be in the 40s and 50s statewide. So the bottom line is, temperatures will be much warmer this morning than in the afternoon to late afternoon. I've decided to forecast the 3PM temperatures so you can dress correctly. Rain will be likely this morning from Raleigh west expanding east through the late morning and early afternoon, then the rain will end west to east early afternoon, and the cold air will rush in. Gusty winds from the southwest this morning, switching from the northwest by the afternoon.
