Mild Weather stays around for Friday before cooler temps return

One more above-average day ahead before a brief return of winter. Happy Friday, North Carolina! We can expect partly sunny skies today; it will be a breezy day across the state. Highs will once again be above average in the upper 60s and 70s for most areas, slightly cooler up in the mountains. I can't rule out an isolated shower today, but most areas are dry. Rain returns to most for Saturday with much colder temps.
