The warmest day of the week ahead, but some rain chances return to the forecast this evening. Happy Friday, North Carolina! Our long stretch of warm continues today, but a cold front will slide through the state this evening. Mostly sunny skies with temperatures soaring into the low-upper 70s with even some low 80s south. Then clouds will move in this evening; as a cold front drops in from the north, we could see a few showers across the north, especially near the VA line, and then drop south through the state, so if you're from Raleigh to like Hickory north, be aware of a few passing showers this evening, but the daytime will be sunny.
