It just wouldn't be normal if we did not get a major storm before the week is over since we have seen major storm systems each week for the past 4.
WHAT: A major storm system will move into the state Thursday evening through Friday, conditions will be mild with highs in the 60s and 70s across the state on Friday. Deep Gulf moisture flowing into the area over a stagnant wedge of high pressure will produce widespread rainfall from Thursday through Saturday morning. This rainfall will be heavy at times. Soils remain nearly saturated from recent snowmelt and rainfall, and many area streams and reservoirs are already running high. This poses an increased risk of flooding as rainfall redevelops over the western part of the state, heavy rain is also possible in central and eastern NC. Mudslides are possible in the mountains due to heavy rain.
Rainfall amounts will be high 2-4" with some areas seeing more than 4" were banding sets up widespread flash flooding is possible.
Temperatures will feel like spring, highs are expected to be in the low 70s and upper 60s
More updates to come stay tuned.
