FORECAST: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020; slightly cooler 1-2° still hot with isolated storms.

New day, same heat, but today temps will be 1-2 degrees cooler! Happy Wednesday, North Carolina! Mostly sunny and still hot today with highs in the mid-upper 90s across the state 80s in the mountains (go to the mountains) While, temps will be a little cooler 1-2 degrees you will not really notice because dew-points will be sky high in the upper 70s, heat index values will be dangerous in the upper 90s to 113° please be careful. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will once again be possible mainly after 12 PM in the mountains, the best area to see scattered storms will be in the Mountains and parts of the Foothills. The main risk is heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds. Please move in if you hear thunder, a couple of the storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds. Areas to the east from Greensboro-Raleigh-Fayetteville east to the coast, the majority will stay a few lucky folks will see an isolated shower or thunderstorm mainly between 3-9PM. Looking ahead, showers and thunderstorm will coverage Friday/Saturday afternoon allowing for cooler temps in the upper 80s to low 90s, I'll have more on that soon.
