Forecast Monday, Oct 31st, 2022

There will definitely be some tricks to the Halloween forecast today, Happy Monday and Halloween, North Carolina! I expect partly to mostly cloudy skies today. A warm front and surface trough will slide through the state tonight into Tuesday. As a result, winds will shift for most areas, which will usher in some warmer air. Highs today will be in the low-mid 70s from Raleigh and points east; the areas to the west will be in the upper 50s to 60s due to more clouds and scattered showers possible. Scattered showers are likely during the day, mainly west of Raleigh and especially west of Greensboro. It will not be a washout, but hit-or-miss showers are possible. Showers and even a thunderstorm will spread east tonight, especially after sunset into the late overnight hours across Central and Eastern NC. If the kids are heading out for trick or treat, I would send the rain jacket with part of the costume. I don't expect a significant accumulation of rain.
