I expect partly to mostly sunny skies, and highs will soar again into the low 90s west and mid and upper 90s for Central and Eastern parts of the state. Heat Index values up to 109° for Central and Eastern NC, take it easy again today. I expect storms to build this afternoon and evening; they will be hit or miss and could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. A slightly cooler airmass will move in for the weekend, but active weather is expected this weekend.
