Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening; a few could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds; an isolated severe storm is possible as well. Highs will soar into the mid and upper 90s today with heat index values up to 107° in spots; take it easy. Friday will be similar to today, but this weekend will feature slightly cooler temps and even higher rain chances especially good for folks who have been missing out on the rain .
