Subfreezing temperatures ahead for the mountains. The coldest night in months statewide

Writer's picture: Ethan Clark Ethan Clark

🥶 HEADS UP AND PASS ALONG: Subfreezing temperatures are likely in the mountains tonight, with lows falling into the 20s across the entire mountains. Tonight will be the coldest night in months across the state, with lows in the 30s and 40s for most areas, 20s in the mountains, and 50s along the Outer Banks.

Mostly clear skies are likely; however, a stray shower is possible early, and there may be a few showers along the Outer Banks tonight. Hopefully, folks in the mountains who are still without proper heating sources can find shelter or somewhere warm tonight.
