It is a new day across the state; our weather will finally change soon. Happy Tuesday, North Carolina! Today will be the final day in the pattern where we've seen scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, Wednesday will be a rather quiet day with only an isolated storm chance. We can expect partly to mostly sunny skies across the state today, with an isolated morning shower or storm not ruled out. The heating of the day will lead to more scattered showers and thunderstorms that will develop. I don't think coverage will be as widespread as yesterday more hit or miss, maybe 30-40% coverage, but still expecting some storms, especially this afternoon and evening. The main threat is heavy rain and gusty winds, but not everyone will experience storms today. Highs will be warm in the upper 80s and low 90s for most areas.
