Then it'll turn quiet for most of the day under partly sunny skies. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, mainly across parts of Eastern/Coastal NC or from Raleigh east. Right now, coverage looks only 30-40%, so it's not widespread. An isolated strong to severe storm threat with damaging winds can't be ruled out, but it doesn't look like a huge threat; it is more of a typical summertime pop-up storm. Highs today will be in the 70s and low 80s.
