🌧️ SATURDAY: The rain dances are working! One word to say, it's gonna rain on Saturday across the state. A good soaking rain seems to be on the way for the state, especially across Central and Eastern sections on Saturday. Another round of much-needed rainfall!

A coastal low will develop and move along the coast, and it'll spread rain northwestward late Friday night into Saturday morning. I expect most areas across the state to be raining on Saturday morning, and the rain will gradually pull east through the afternoon and evening. It is looking like a washout, with on-and-off rain most of the day, especially across Central and Eastern NC, with clearing from west to east late afternoon and evening. Based on current trends, the rain will end sooner in Greensboro and points west Saturday afternoon, if the current forecast holds, with rain shutting off through the afternoon.
-Temps: It'll be very chilly on Saturday, not feeling like May at all, with highs in the 50s and low 60s for most areas! So make sure you have your warm gear out!

-Rainfall Amounts: At this point, the highest rainfall totals look to be for Eastern/Coastal sections of the state, with some spots seeing up to an inch of rain with locally higher amounts. Areas to the west will generally see 0.10-0.50", especially west of Raleigh. The EURO and GFS models are both allied, and based on previous experience with this setup, I also agreed. The rain won't be that heavy, and I do not expect any concerns with rapid Flash Flooding since it has been so dry!
-The Bottom Line: Saturday is a good indoor day across the state, with much-needed rain on the way. We will see whether it trends higher or lower over the next 36 hours.
I'll keep you updated. Sunday looks drier and sunny with highs in the 60s.
