Severe Weather Update: I've been getting a substantial number of questions regarding the severe weather threat. The latest models and observational analysis suggest that a line of showers and thunderstorms will develop this evening and move east with the cold front. The severe weather threat is not high, but a couple of isolated strong to severe storms can't be ruled out from Charlotte east through about 1AM. Any storm that can become severe will pose the main threat of damaging winds, but I can't completely rule out an isolated tornado.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1/5 risk from Charlotte east.
Below is what one model thinks will happen; conditions are only marginally favorable, but nonetheless, stay aware that through about 1AM, the threat will end earlier in the west and later in the east. I'll be monitoring and passing along updates as needed on Facebook and Instagram.
